Pick-Up Times – Morning or Afternoon?
The tour runs daily in two versions, so you can fit it flexibly around your ship's time in port.
Our Advice
If possible, choose the afternoon tour. Temperatures are more pleasant, and the fish market and souks are far livelier and more colourful at that time. You also see the beautiful Hurghada Marina at dusk.
That is why most of our passengers end up choosing the afternoon – and never regret it.

Itinerary: Hurghada and the Hurghada Museum from Safaga Port
Pick-Up Outside Safaga Port
Our driver waits punctually at the terminal exit with a sign bearing your name, so you will spot them straight away. Then you get into a private air-conditioned vehicle and reach Hurghada in about 45 minutes. The desert drive between Safaga and Hurghada is itself a beautiful introduction to the tour.
The Hurghada Museum – a Must for History Lovers
The Hurghada Museum is the first museum of antiquities on the Red Sea and one of the most modern in Egypt. What’s more, it was created through a unique partnership between the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, the Red Sea Governorate and the private sector. Over two floors, 2,000 exhibits tell Egypt’s story from the pharaohs through the Greco-Roman era to modern Islamic Egypt. So if you want to truly understand Egypt, start here.
Hurghada Marina – Yachts, Sea Breezes and the Best Cafés in Town
Next, you visit Hurghada’s new marina, opened in 2008, the vibrant heart of the modern city. A stroll along the harbour is always worthwhile: luxury yachts line the quays and charming cafés invite you to relax. The view of the Red Sea is breathtaking too. You will soon see that Hurghada is not just a resort, but a real city.
The Al Mina Mosque and the Shipyard
Then you see the Al Mina Mosque, Hurghada’s most modern landmark. Completed in 2012, it is a perfect example of contemporary Arabic architecture: 8,000 m², space for 10,000 worshippers, two minarets and 25 domes. Your English-speaking tour guide also tells you about Islam, prayer times and everyday religious life in Egypt. Right next to it is a traditional shipyard, where wooden boats are built and restored using age-old methods.
The Coptic Church – Another Side of Egypt
Almost 20% of Egyptians are Christians, something many visitors quickly forget. Hurghada’s newest Coptic church offers a glimpse into Christian Egypt. Your guide explains baptism traditions, Coptic festivals and why Egyptian Christmas is celebrated on 7 January rather than 25 December.
The Fish Market and the Souk – Authentic Local Life
Next, you visit Hurghada’s fish market, between the marina and the mosque, one of the liveliest places in the city. Colourful fish from the sea and the Nile, loudly bargaining traders and curious looks show you the real Hurghada of its residents. Right next door, the fruit and vegetable market (souk) offers fresh produce, and the friendly traders are happy to pose for photos.
Free Time and Return
To end the tour, you enjoy a pleasant stroll along the 3-kilometre bazaar. You can buy a souvenir, have a last coffee or simply soak up the atmosphere. Then your driver takes you calmly and punctually back to Safaga Port, well before your ship sails. See more Safaga shore excursions.
